Start with small things. Efforts that are in your power. Everyday efforts like to be nice to somebody, to be patient. Try to see the matter from the other persons point of view. Try to understand that maybe this person is having a bad day. Be generous. Give away something you like to someone who needs it. Be cheerful when your not feeling so good. That's a hard one but it really helps. Try not to make things into tragedies if you can help it. Little things go a long way. Little by little, being kind changes us in big ways. It's not a temporary change either. It's forever. Small acts of tender mercy. Being kind to our friends, our parents, our children; being hospitable, slow to judge. Exerting ourselves for others, especially those in need. Being trustworthy, forthright, true to our word. Avoiding gossip, backbiting. Giving others the benefit of the doubt and wishing them well in our hearts. Having tolerance for people's shortcomings. Controlling anger. Being steadfast in hard times. Learning to forgive.

Affirmation- 'I will try my best to be a compassionate person to myself and others. I won't always succeed but I will enjoy trying.'
