Late summer yoga tips
"Always do a posture in such a way that brings peace and always do yoga in such a way that makes you want to do it again."
We are all rushing around keeping ourselves 'busy' doing our lives instead of simple 'being '. We are human beings after all and not human 'doings' ! We can sometimes see this in our yoga practice where we get into the same habit of just 'doing' a yoga session or posture and can easily slip away from simple 'being' in the pose or class. Getting back to being fully present in all areas of your life is a fantastic and truly healthy way to live, putting this into practice more in your yoga is a great place to bring this 'being' awareness into all areas of your life whether that be work, family or play.
Late summer is an ideal time to focus on this as it is all about coming back to centre and digesting information and how you feel. It is a great time to 'feel ' the poses and take time to come back to centre and acknowledge how you are in the pose; you can ask yourself: how does it make you feel? Does it feel good? I'm a happy and can I smile while doing it? I'm I at peace? Do I feel centred and content? Is this making me feel like I could do it again and be happy doing it?
While thinking about these questions in regard to postures and yoga it could be a good idea to expand them to thinking about other areas of your life where you may be too 'busy' to allow yourself to simple 'be' . Be happy, be content, be yourself, be centred and most importantly be at peace.
Om shanti and hope Late Summer brings you the chance to be your true peaceful self.
Namaste.
OM MANI PADME HUM
Wherever you walk may it be beautiful
Keep Smiling :)
