Autumn Yoga
'I am more than I appear to be, all the worlds strength and power rests in me.'
“Love the trees until their leaves fall off, then encourage them to try again next year.”
― Chad Sugg
“I loved autumn, the one season of the year that God seemed to have put there just for the beauty of it.”
― Lee Maynard
8 priorities for Autumn
1. This is the time to practice breathing properly because it balances the emotions and clears the mind.
2. Assume total responsibility for how you feel on a daily basis.
3. Get it off you chest: sort out anything that is bothering you, or find a friend to talk to.
4. It is time to let go of relationships or things that are no longer serving or benefiting you.
5. Introduce pungent flavours into your diet such as ginger and horseradish, because they stimulate the lungs and intestines.
6. Do you have sound judgement, strength, structure, and discipline in your life? Are you maintaining high standards and principles in order to value yourself?
7. Activities for autumn require control and proper use of the breath, so cardiovascular exercise is beneficial, but not in excess. Activity in the home is also important do have a good clear out, getting rid of all those things you no longer need.
8. It is a time to clear the mind of negative thoughts and to think positively keeping your mind open to new ideas.
“Breathing in, I calm body and mind. Breathing out, I smile. Dwelling in the present moment I know this is the only moment.”
~ Thich Nhat Hanh
8 things to avoid for Autumn
1. Dampening foods like wheat (bread) and cow products: use sheep and goat products instead.
2. Clutter and congestion in every area of life.
3. Constipation by keeping the system moving, with fibre in vegetables and fresh fruit.
4. Bearing a grudge; open yourself up and tell the person how you feel.
5. Addictive habits.
6. Getting stuck in the same routine, so try changing it.
7. Becoming isolated, inhibited, disillusioned, autocratic, or obsessed with detail.
8. Becoming melancholic, negative, depressed or filled with constant regret. Avoid prolonged periods of sadness and grief, if possible, as they harm and weaken the lungs.
Did you know that the 4 primary Archangels are often associated with the 4 seasons? Spring is Archangel Raphael, Summer - Archangel Uriel, Autumn - Archangel Michael and Winter is Archangel Gabriel.
Each Archangel has different qualities and virtues just like the seasons.
If Autumn was a person their nature and energy would be more restrained. They would be dignified and serene, a person who can evaluate what is useful and what is not, and who can maintain or discard appropriately. Someone of high values, principles and standards who can learn from life's hidden lesson, learn from them and apply them to life in order to refine themselves and be virtuous.
Virtues for a life overflowing with inner peace, joy and a wealth of spiritual gifts;
"Never overlook the power of simplicity".
"Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside awakens" Carl Jung
Your mind is like a garden you need to care for it and cultivate it. You stand guard at the gate and let only the best information in. Remember those who are to busy telling their neighbours how to tend their gardens are not looking after their own!

Focus on the good in your life and find ways to make things even better.
There are no mistakes in life only lessons. There is no such thing as a negative experience, only opportunities to grow, learn and advance along the road of self-mastery. From struggle comes strength. Even pain can be a wonderful teacher. You must always remember the laws of nature and find comfort that when one door closes another one opens.
Expect the best! Awaken yourself to the power you have over your own mind to make it happen. Once you do the universe will conspire with you to work magic in your life.
The secret of happiness is simple: find out what you truly love to do and then direct all of your energy towards doing it. Your desires are filled then with ease and grace. Find your passion and pursue it. It will be a calling that almost always serves others. Start doing things you have always wanted to do, start with small things and see how it makes you feel. The confidence and joy will give you the energy to continue to larger goals.

As babies we do not worry about the past or future. We feel and live spontaneously and completely in the moment, as we were meant to experience this physical dimension. We have much to learn from our children.
